Scholarship Criteria

One-year scholarships for students graduating from Black Hawk County high schools. Priority should be given to students attending an accredited community college or who will be receiving vocational or technical training for which other scholarships may be unavailable. Students attending traditional, 4-year, accredited universities and colleges may also be considered. To be eligible, students must demonstrate the ability to achieve academically (though recipients need not be at the top of their classes) and have participated in extracurricular activities at school and/or contributed to the broader community.

Give to the Fund

Financial gifts to the Donna R. Hickman and Greg Hickman Scholarship Fund with the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa allows the Community Foundation to award financial assistance to students pursuing higher education. As the cost of tuition continues to rise, it is more important now than ever to diminish the barrier of affordability and allow students to focus on what is most important - their education.
