Waterville Community Foundation Awards Grants to Local Organizations

The Waterville Community Foundation awarded $849 in grant funding to two projects of organizations serving the Waterville area through its 2022 grant cycle.

In the program area of education and youth development, Allamakee County ISU Extension received a $300 grant for its 4-H Toppers Annual Easter Egg Hunt project. In the area of community betterment, the City of Waterville received a $549 grant for its Community Center Portable PA project.

Decisions on grant awards are determined by a local committee, which consists of volunteers from the Waterville area. Committee members include: Sandy Bresnahan, Peggy Khan, David Monserud, Amanda Streeper, Virgil Thorstenson (chair), Clark White and Nancy Wonderlich.

Grants are awarded through Waterville Community Foundation’s competitive grant process to projects in the program areas of: arts and culture, community betterment, education and youth development, environment and animal welfare, health and human service. Grant applicants must be a 501(c)(3) designated organization or government entity serving the Waterville area in order to be considered for funding.
