Tama County Community Foundation Distributes $111,064 to Local Nonprofit Organizations

The Tama County Community Foundation (TCCF) has granted $111,064 to 34 projects of organizations serving Tama County through its 2021 grant cycle.

“There are many deserving causes and nonprofit organizations that apply for grant funding each year,” said Sara Forrester, TCCF committee chair. “The Tama County Community Foundation is proud to partner with these nonprofits to ensure they are able to offer the programs and services which create more vibrant communities for all people in Tama County.”

Decisions on grant awards are determined by a local committee, which consists of volunteers from Tama County. Committee members include: Sara Forrester (chair), Gloria Fonseca, Dixie Forcht, Darvin Graham, Mary Ann Gregory, Angie Jacobs, Melanie Kemper, Chris Schafer and Sandy Supianoski.

Grants are awarded through TCCF’s competitive grant process to projects in the program areas of: arts and culture, community betterment, education and youth development, environment and animal welfare, health and human service. Grant applicants must be a 501(c)(3) designated organization or government entity serving Tama County in order to be considered for funding.
