Framing Hope Endowment Fund Established with CFNEIA

CFNEIA
July 9, 2021

The Framing Hope Endowment Fund has been established with the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa. The fund will support Framing Hope, a shared program between House of Hope and Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity which works to provide a pathway to homeownership for single mothers in the Cedar Valley.

The dual enrollment program pairs the case management at House of Hope, assisting single mothers in finding stable employment and financial literacy, with Iowa Heartland’s Homeownership Program which requires 300 sweat equity hours and 10 weeks of homebuyer education courses. As of May of 2021, this program has led to one partner, Paris, becoming a homeowner with two more currently enrolled.

“We are grateful to Nazareth Lutheran Church for providing the initial gift to establish this endowment fund,” said Ali Parrish, executive director of Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity. “Having this sustainable source of funding for this program ensures we are able to provide the critical services needed for more single mothers to achieve financial independence and to obtain permanent housing for their family. We are thrilled to work closely with House of Hope on this important work.”

Gifts to the Framing Hope Endowment Fund can be made online at fund.cfneia.org/framinghope. Gifts of cash/check and stock are accepted through the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa, 3117 Greenhill Circle, Cedar Falls, IA, 50613. Checks should be made payable to the Framing Hope Endowment Fund.

Donations to endowed funds with a qualified community foundation, like the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa, are eligible for a 25% state tax credit on the total value of the gift through the Endow Iowa Tax Credit Program. All qualified donors can carry forward the tax credit for up to five years after the year the donation was made. More information about Endow Iowa can be found at www.cfneia.org/endowiowa.
