2016 Endow Iowa Tax Credits Expended

Posted on October 6, 2016

Endow Iowa state tax credits are an incredible incentive for making gifts to funds impacting Iowa charitable projects. This tax benefit continues to gain popularity among generous people who want to create a positive impact in their community. As more people utilize the Endow Iowa program, the faster the $6 million in credits per year are used.

As of October 6, the 2016 Endow Iowa 25% state tax credits limit had been met. The $6 million maximum credit limit was awarded on a first come, first served basis.

We understand this tax-incentive is an important part of the charitable giving decision-making process, and there is good news for those who still want to make a year-end gift to enrich their communities. Qualified gifts made after the limit was reached will be first in line to receive 2017 Endow Iowa credits. As year-end giving considerations are being made, please keep this in mind.

CFNEIA will be receiving a list of tax credits awarded for 2016 later this month. This list from the Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) will show us which applications have been awarded tax credits for 2016.
