Local Community Foundations Grant Over $158,000 to Local Organizations

The Bremer County Community Foundation, Readlyn Community Fund, and Waverly Community Fund held their 2019 spring grant awards ceremony at the Riviera Roose in Janesville on Thursday, June 27, announcing the distribution of $158,788.16 in grants to 50 nonprofit organization projects serving Bremer County communities.

“The Bremer County Community Foundation and our partners, the Readlyn Community Fund and Waverly Community Fund, are honored to be part of the stories of these incredible nonprofit organizations and the people they serve,” said Bremer County Community Foundation Chair, Madeleine Ambrose. “The projects funded today will improve the quality of life in our communities and make Bremer County a better place for all people. We are grateful to the visionary individuals who, through their generosity, make it possible for all three of our Foundations to truly be here for good in Bremer County.”

Grants are awarded through each Foundation’s competitive grant process. Decisions on grant awards are determined by volunteer committees, which consists of volunteers from Bremer County, Readlyn, and Waverly. Grants may be awarded to projects in the program areas of: art and culture, community betterment, education, environment, health, historic preservation and human service. Grant applicants must be a 501(c)(3) designated organization (or government entity) serving Bremer County in order to be considered for funding.

The 2020 grant cycle opens January 1 with an application deadline of March 31, 2020. Grant guidelines and applications can be found at www.bremerccf.org.
