Scholarship Criteria

One-year scholarships for students graduating from Vinton-Shellsburg High School who will be attending an accredited university, junior college, or trade school, and who demonstrate the abilities required to successfully complete the requirements of the institution chosen. Students selected should be pursuing a degree in agriculture or related studies. Priority will be given to students pursuing degrees that have an emphasis in conservation. If there are no applicants available who are seeking a degree in agriculture or related studies, preference should be given to students seeking a degree in education. Give to the Fund

Financial gifts to the Marlyn and Ann Jorgensen Family Scholarship Fund with the Benton County Community Foundation allows the Community Foundation to award financial assistance to students pursuing higher education. As the cost of tuition continues to rise, it is more important now than ever to diminish the barrier of affordability and allow students to focus on what is most important - their education.
