W. Thomas and Carline Phillips Scholarship Fund
Scholarship Criteria
One-year scholarships for African-American students attending Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo, Iowa. Applicants must have a 2.5 GPA or higher and demonstrate the potential to achieve success in postsecondary education. Preference to students who have participated in at least one educational opportunity through the Martin Luther King, Jr. Center, or involved in a multicultural organization at HCC. To apply for this scholarship, contact the financial aid office at Hawkeye Community College.
Give to the Fund
Financial gifts to the W. Thomas and Carline Phillips Scholarship Fund with the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa allows the Community Foundation to award financial assistance to students pursuing higher education. As the cost of tuition continues to rise, it is more important now than ever to diminish the barrier of affordability and allow students to focus on what is most important - their education.
