The Dunkerton Public Library has served the community since the fall of 1957, when members of the Dunkerton Woman's Club established the town's first public library. Over the decades, the library has weathered floods and relocated several times before finding its permanent home. In 2010, the City of Dunkerton opened the current library at 203 E. Tower Street, providing a modern space for learning, connection, and community.
Today, the library offers much more than books. Patrons have access to digital resources including Hoopla, Libby, and Rocket Languages, as well as the Dolly Parton's Imagination Library program for young readers. The library also features best-selling books and movies, STEM kits, public computers, 24/7 Wi-Fi access, and a community program room available for public use. The Dunkerton Public Library continues to be a welcoming place where residents of all ages can learn, explore, and connect.
