Scholarship Criteria
Four-year scholarships for one student graduating from Waterloo East High School and one from Waterloo West High School. Graduates must be attending an accredited 4-year university or college within the state of Iowa and have a 3.0 GPA or higher. Applicants must exhibit leadership qualities through involvement in extracurricular and volunteer activities in school, community and/or church. Priority will be given to applicants intending to pursue degrees in math, science, engineering, pre-medicine or business. Recipients must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher while in college.
Give to the Fund
Financial gifts to the Dr. Jitu Kothari Scholarship Fund with the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa allows the Community Foundation to award financial assistance to students pursuing higher education. As the cost of tuition continues to rise, it is more important now than ever to diminish the barrier of affordability and allow students to focus on what is most important - their education.
