Scholarship Criteria
One-year scholarships are available to qualified graduates of Black Hawk County, Iowa, and Des Moines, Iowa, high schools who will be attending an accredited university, junior college, or trade school within the state of Iowa, and who demonstrate the abilities required to successfully complete the requirements of the institution chosen. Students should be able to demonstrate a financial need for the scholarship and have a minimum grade point average of 2.5. Emphasis should be given to those candidates for the scholarship who are African American.
Give to the Fund
Financial gifts to the Dr. Carline Phillips Delta Legacy Scholarship Fund with the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa allows the Community Foundation to award financial assistance to students pursuing higher education. As the cost of tuition continues to rise, it is more important now than ever to diminish the barrier of affordability and allow students to focus on what is most important - their education.
