Grantmaking Snapshot: Home Delivered Meals Program
Individuals age 60 and older are able to receive nutritious meals in Winneshiek County through the Northeast Iowa Area Agency on Aging’s Meals Program. Congregate meal sites in Calmar and Decorah closed for most of 2020 due to COVID-19 restrictions so the program focused its efforts on where it could benefit its clients most - meal delivery. With many elder individuals home-bound, nearly triple the number of clients were served from June to September, bringing the total number of meals served during that time to over 3,400.
