11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa
3117 Greenhill Circle, Cedar Falls

Our speakers, Tara Adams, Ed.M., JD, and Anthony Pomonis, CFRE, will be joining us remotely, but both in-person and online attendance options are available. For those joining online, we will start the virtual meeting just before the program begins at noon. Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. for those attending in person.

About the Workshop

There is a growing need in philanthropy to address the concern of dementia and other forms of cognitive impairment. Our presenters from Cognitive Empowerment seek to amplify awareness of cognitive impairment by supporting development professionals through audits, trainings, policy creation, and other resources with the ultimate goal of constructing an ethical framework of best practices that protects donors, professionals, and their institutions.

Learning objectives include:

  • The prevalence of cognitive impairment in elderly donors
  • The top signs to look for in donor interactions
  • The ethical and legal issues involved in gift interactions with donors who are showing signs of cognitive impairment
  • Best practices to incorporate when cognitive impairment is suspected or confirmed

One hour of continuing education credits for CFP and CLE. Also approved as a continuing legal education credit in Ethics. Please RSVP by Friday, April 7.
