Scholarship Criteria

One-year scholarships will be made annually to residents of the state of Iowa who will be attending an accredited university, college junior college, or trade, and who have had an obstacle or hardship in their life. Applicants may range from graduating high school seniors to adults. Preference goes to residents of Black Hawk, Bremer, and Buchanan Counties. Additional preference goes to non-traditional students who demonstrate financial high financial need. Applicants can reapply for the scholarship in for up to three additional years.

Give to the Fund

Financial gifts to the Harold and Elsie Koob Scholarship Fund with the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa allows the Community Foundation to award financial assistance to students pursuing higher education. As the cost of tuition continues to rise, it is more important now than ever to diminish the barrier of affordability and allow students to focus on what is most important - their education.
