Join Women for Good for a meaningful afternoon of hands-on volunteering and community connection at the 2026 Stop & Serve Volunteer Event in Waterloo, Iowa. This unique volunteer experience brings together women who want to make a direct impact in Northeast Iowa while learning more about local nonprofits serving women, girls, and families across the Cedar Valley.
Held at the Hawkeye Community College Van G. Miller Adult Learning Center, the Stop & Serve event makes community service simple, flexible, and impactful. Participants will rotate through multiple volunteer stations hosted by local nonprofit organizations, completing quick, hands-on service projects while discovering meaningful ways to stay involved year-round.
Whether you’re looking for volunteer opportunities in Waterloo, ways to support local nonprofits, or opportunities to connect with women who care about community impact, this event is designed to inspire action and strengthen our region through service.

Free parking is available directly in front of the building. Guests may use the stairs or elevator to access the 3rd floor
What is Stop & Serve?
Stop & Serve is a fast-paced, interactive volunteer event where attendees move between service stations supporting multiple local nonprofits in one afternoon. Each station features a simple hands-on activity, such as assembling kits, organizing supplies, or packing items for community programs, allowing participants to make a meaningful difference in a short amount of time.
Along the way, attendees will also learn more about the missions, programs, and impact of nonprofit organizations serving the Cedar Valley and Northeast Iowa communities.

Event Overview
Join Women for Good for an important and timely conversation about women’s health in the Cedar Valley. This member meeting brings together local experts and organizations to explore the current landscape of women’s wellness, healthcare access, and community health challenges affecting women across Black Hawk County.
From preventive care and chronic disease management to mental health, reproductive health, and healthcare access, this event will provide a comprehensive look at the issues women in our region are navigating every day and where critical gaps still exist.

Women for Good Meet and Greet 2026
Join us for the Women for Good 2026 Meet & Greet, an inspiring evening designed to bring women together for meaningful connection, thoughtful conversation, and community impact.
This welcoming gathering offers an opportunity to learn more about Women for Good, a group of women focused on supporting women and girls, while also engaging in authentic dialogue around purpose, generosity, and what becomes possible when women come together.
The evening will feature a guided conversation facilitated by Nicole Sallis, encouraging reflection on how we design lives of impact, and the powerful role community plays in that journey. Through shared stories and discussion, guests will explore how connection, philanthropy, and collective action can create lasting change.
Whether you are already involved with Women for Good or simply curious about women-led philanthropy, this meet and greet event is an open, inclusive space to connect with like-minded women who care about strengthening our community. There’s no pressure to commit, just an invitation to listen, reflect, ask questions, and belong.
If you’re interested in women’s leadership, community giving, or finding meaningful ways to support women and girls locally, this event is a perfect place to start.

Women for Good December Social
Celebrate a Year of Impact
Join us for the final Women for Good event of 2025! This evening social and program is a chance to connect with fellow members, enjoy holiday-themed refreshments, and celebrate the incredible impact made through the Women’s Fund of the Cedar Valley.
In October, $50,000 in grant funding was awarded from the Women’s Fund to six organizations supporting women and girls in Black Hawk County:
- House of Hope – Christian Community Development
- Iowa Legal Aid – Stabilizing the Lives of Women and Girls in BHC
- Lutheran Services in Iowa – Early Childhood Support for Women and Children
- Northeast Iowa Food Bank – Local Produce and Food to Impact Women/Girls’ Health
- One City United – Momentum 2.0
- Riverview Center, Inc. – Women’s Sexual Assault Survivor Support Group
