The Women's Fund was established with a $50,000 donation from local philanthropist, Pauline Barrett, who saw a vision and purpose for this program. Since then, through membership dues and donations, the Women’s Fund endowment has granted over $115,000 to programs and projects impacting women and girls. The need continues to grow.
The Women’s Fund is an endowed fund which means its impacts are forever. To ensure the fund fulfills its purpose, only a percentage of the interest is granted and the rest is invested to grow and create greater impacts. The Women’s Fund receives over $100,000 in grant requests every year and in 2019 the membership was able to support four projects through grants totaling over $23,000. This graph shows the gap between requests and the amount granted in 2019.
