Boys and Girls Clubs of the Cedar Valley Meet Matching Grant

CFNEIA
July 25, 2018

The Boys and Girls Clubs of the Cedar Valley has met a $50,000 matching grant from the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa, received at the Foundation’s November 2017 Celebration of Community event. The CFNEIA grant matched incoming donations to The Boys and Girls Clubs of the Cedar Valley Youth Development Fund, held with the Community Foundation, dollar for dollar up to $50,000. The grant was an effort to kickstart fundraising for the $1.5 million endowment building goal of the Boys and Girls Clubs Together We Can Capital Campaign.

“Working on this campaign has been a challenging but exciting process. So many local foundations and donors have contributed towards this project in massive ways. This campaign would not be where it is today if not for those groups, including this wonderful matching opportunity from the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa,” said Chuck Rowe, Boys and Girls Clubs CEO.

The endowment building component of the Together We Can Capital Campaign increases the fund that creates a long-term, sustainable source of income to help support programming for Cedar Valley youth. It also provides income to help sustain and maintain the new Teen Center and the Lime Street Clubhouse, including maintenance and general upkeep to ensure these hubs for area youth are here for years to come. The endowment building portion of the Together We Can campaign is at $154,000 of the $1.5 million goal.

“Building a strong endowment is critical to the long-term goals of a project like the Together We Can campaign and the overall organization. We are excited to be able to be part of helping The Boys and Girls Clubs of the Cedar Valley reach their goals, which ultimately will impact generations of youth in the Cedar Valley.” said Kaye Englin, CFNEIA President and CEO.

Gifts to The Boys and Girls Clubs of the Cedar Valley Youth Development Fund are eligible for the Endow Iowa 25% state tax credit and can be made at fund.cfneia.org/cedarvalleyclubs.
