2007 Endow Iowa Tax Credit Now Available

The Endow Iowa program was created to enhance Iowa's quality of life by increasing local philanthropy. Endow Iowa provides donors with state income tax incentives worth 20% of the amount of the gift. This program was instituted as a catalyst to help build endowments.

The Endow Iowa program has been authorized to offer $2 million in tax credits each year through 2008, at which time the credits will increase to $3 million per year. Credits are available on a first come, first serve basis.

More information about the program including the tax credit application form and update information on the tax credit status can be found at http://www.iowalifechanging.com/endowiowa.

Qualifying gifts include:
  • New funds established in the individual's own name.
These funds may be donor-advised, designated for specific organizations, scholarships, or unrestricted. A $5,000 minimum is required to establish a new fund ($12,500 for scholarships).

  • Contributions of any amount to any eligible existing endowed fund.
