As Vice President of Finance and Operations, it is my responsibility to ensure that the Community Foundation's practices and investments are in accordance with standards and guidelines set to insure our overall success. I also help to make sure that our funds are professionally invested and managed, and monitor investment performance while working closely with professional advisors and donors.

As the Finance Assistant, I handle pledges, gifts, supplies, invoicing, and reconciling accounts. I work closely with the Vice President of Finance & Operations on organization and special projects.
Jennifer Jones Ruiz

As the Communications Director, I work to develop and carry out all marketing and communications, and assist with event preparation and donor relations. It is my job to help find communication outlets to the public so we can let people know about all of the wonderful things that happen at the Community Foundation and how they can make a difference in their own communities.
Ali Parrish

As the Black Hawk County Development Director, I help individuals, families, businesses and nonprofits establish charitable funds, give to existing funds and create long-term plans for their philanthropic giving, which helps to increase the Community Foundation’s positive impact in the community. I also partner with professional advisors to help their clients realize their charitable goals and develop new giving opportunities for our fund holders, including donor education and family philanthropy planning.
Julie Schaefer

As Donor Services Assistant I provide assistance to the President and CEO and Development Director in the processing of gifts, tax credits and other areas involving donors. I also provide support to staff in various activities to fulfill and promote the mission and vision of the Community Foundation.
Angie Shaffer

As program associate I help the Community Foundation serve the needs of communities throughout northeast Iowa. My job is to help nonprofits and government entities through the grant process, from their initial application to their final report. My goal is to make the entire grant process as simple and enjoyable as possible. I also work on various foundation initiatives to help promote the mission and vision of the Community Foundation.
Nicole Stuart

I assist the Vice President of Finance and Operations as well as the Program Director. I handle the financials for ICOF as well as helping to reconcile some of CFNEIA’s accounts. I take care of deposits of gifts and assist with running and sending out Quarterly Fund Statements. I’m also responsible for the weekly grants that come in for the purpose of invoice payments and help out in any other way that I can assist the Program Director.
Jamar Thompson

As Affiliate Development Director, I am the primary contact for our 25 county and community affiliates. I also work to connect individuals, families, businesses, professional advisors, communities, and non-profit organizations to the most efficient and effective ways to reach charitable giving goals. With the assistance of staff and volunteers, we create, implement, and promote activities and possibilities that are all a part of leaving a legacy for our communities. Outreach seminars, educational opportunities, historical vignettes, and other donor services are all components of our overall outreach efforts working to connect people who care to the causes that matter most to them.

Through the granting process, I help ensure the Community Foundation effectively serves the communities of Northeast Iowa. In addition, I oversee the scholarship process for the high school students in Black Hawk County, and I work with several Community Foundation initiatives including the Cedar Valley Non-Profit Association, Leave a Legacy, Metro Funders, and Teen Trust.
